In today's world, man has become more concerned with the material things he can acquire and less of the moral values that he needs. Earthly material things and its needs consume the aims and objectives of almost everyone. It has become more of a habit than a necessity to survive in this world.
This is true even for me personally. I have been living with my parents and still is, and I have seen the difference in the years gone by and the present. Normally, especially during my childhood, I was never given money or anything that an be used to buy things. Rather, I would be told to ask politely and only then will I get things. Also, I used to be allowed to go outside and enjoy with friends, even sharing things and doing things together with friends.
But now, every time my parents want to do something or are busy or occupied in their work, I got money to enjoy and do whatever I wished with it. Also, my parents hardly have time for me, always so glued to their office works. And the very idea of sharing things with others is absurd. Rather, we keep things for our own and I am not even allowed to tell it to others. My parents would always compete with our relatives and neighbors about who have the latest gadgets and home materials, and even talk of their future plans to go here and there. Parents shower their kids with money, replacing the very act of emotional connection to that of material things. they think that as long as we are given what we need, then that's their love for us. But they should know and realize that more than the material things, we need their presence and guidance in our lives.
Such is the way of the world now, where your material belongings define who or what you are and even how you are treated in the society. And even the emotions are replaced by the money given to make and kep us happy.
