The age of sixteen is not a very mature age. Considering the fact that at sixteen, most children are living with their parents and are still dependent on them, it is but obvious for parents to be able to have a say in their lives.

Parents understand the consequences of actions can share valuable experience with their kids and help them evade any uncomfortable situation. Thus they should be allowed o have a say even after sixteen.
