Study of Mitosis and Meiosis
Aim: To study different stages of mitosis and meiosis.
I. STUDY OF MITOSIS
Requirements : Permanent slides of onion root tips showing mitosis, compound microscope.
Procedure : Focus the permanent slide of squash preparation of onion root up under the high power of a
microscope and note the changes undergone by the nucleus during the following stages of mitosis :

Answer:
The chromosomes remain distributed in the nucleoplasm. ... (3) Anaphase : During early anaphase, the centromere of each chromosome divides longitudinally into two.
