An ongoing misconception that runs in our society renders
education synonymous with literacy. There is a tint of truth when
people believe it to be one and the same thing, but it would be
wrong to conclude that literacy is the sole form of education.
Instead, it could be defined as the ability to read, write and
understand. It is relative to our reading and writing skills. It can also
be a stepping stone in attaining knowledge and maintaining a status
quo.
