Q1 Read the passage given below.
1. Old age is a delicate phase of life. India is, at present, home to over 95 million people over
the
age of 60, and another 80 million are expected to be included in the same age-slot by
2025. The apparent enhancement of living conditions and improved healthcare, besides
awareness, has increased life expectancy. However, the growing cases of desertion and
abuse of the elderly are not only a matter of concern, but also alarming
2. Life in the twilight years does not come with many opportunities and choices. The
comforts in later years of life, to a large extent, depend on the choices one has made

to embrace the latter years, with just as much vigour and vibrancy as youth. Some ways

technology solutions to serve the old. These organisations work on holistic fronts and
help improve the quality of life through various schemes like providing free ration
medicines, counselling and healthcare.​
