Given :

Number of roses bought by a florist = 360

Cost of each dozen of roses = Rs. 8

Selling Price (S.P.) of each rose = Re. 1

To find :

The profit earned on selling 360 roses.

Solution :

• One dozen of roses means 12 roses.

•  Number of dozens is 360 roses = 360 / 12 = 30

• Since the cost of 1 dozen of roses is Rs. 8, the cost of 3 dozens of roses will be 30 × Rs. 8 = Rs. 240

∴  Cost Price (C.P.) of 360 roses = Rs. 240

• S.P. of each rose = Re. 1

=> S.P. of 360 roses = 360 × Re. 1 = Rs. 360

• Profit is made when S.P. > C.P.

∴  Profit = S.P. of 360 roses - C.P. of 360 roses

=> Profit = Rs. 360 - Rs. 240

=> Profit = Rs. 120 (option C).

Therefore, the profit made by the florist on selling 360 roses is Rs. 120 (option C).
