  • The outer portion which is cortex contains cell bodies of the neurons and begins grayish in colour.Thise are called gray matter.
  • The inner portion of Cerebrum contains a white matter which contains the axon of the neurons.
  • Each celebral has 2 region - an outer cortex and the inner medulla.
  • It is believed that the higher number of convolution in the human brain is due to large number of nerve calls and greater intelligence.

Cerebellum

_______________

  • Also called little brain.
  • It is a small part of brain which is located just at the base and under the large cerebrum.
  • The main function:- To maintain the body and muscular activity.
  • The act of walking involves coordinated working of many muscles but proper coordination and timing and relaxation is the responsibility of cerebellum.
