It consists of the thalamus and hypothalamus which lie deep in the cerebral hemispheres. Centers in the hypothalamus regulate our body temperature, blood sugar, hunger and hormones. The thalamus is involvedwith sensory signals sent to the higherforebrain, in particular the cerebral cortex.
