ANSWER:

The small intestine consist of small finger like projection called Villi which is responsible for absorption.  

EXPLANATION:

Each villus has more number of microvilli. Hence Villi and microvilli both help in absorption. They provide the huge surface area for the nutrients to be absorbed in huge contact without wastage.

Small intestine goes through a "slew of gyrations" which mix the "chyme" with digestive juice with food particle and brings the food in contact with small intestine wall. Microvilli are also responsible for absorption.
