Let d be the distance and s be the speed,
we have time taken to reach station on time = d/s = d/4 - 1 = d/5 - 0.4
solving the equations:
d/4 - 1 = d/5 - 0.4
d/20 = 0.6
d = 12
d/4 - 1 = 2
d/s = 2
s = 12/2 = 6
therefore he should travel at speed of 6km/h
we have time taken to reach station on time = d/s = d/4 - 1 = d/5 - 0.4
solving the equations:
d/4 - 1 = d/5 - 0.4
d/20 = 0.6
d = 12
d/4 - 1 = 2
d/s = 2
s = 12/2 = 6
therefore he should travel at speed of 6km/h
