Particle A makes a perfectly elastic collision with another particle B at rest they fly apart in opposite direction with equal speeds the ratio of their masses mA/mB is?

By momentum conservation
m1u1=m2v2−m1v1
v2+v1/u1 =e = 1 (perfectly elastic collision)
=> v2+v1=u1
Put u1 in above eqn.
∴m1 (v2+v1) =m2*v2−m1*v1 (signs play important role in this problem)
m1(v2+2*v1)=m2*v2
v1=v2=v (given)
m1/m2=v/3v
=1/3
