Given :

Initial angular velocity = 20 rad/s

Angular acceleration = 2 rad/s²

Time interval = 10s

To Find :

Number of revolutions.

Solution :

❒ In this question, particle is revolving in a circular path having constant angular acceleration.

Equation of rotational kinematics can be easily applied to solve this question! First of all we need to find angular displacement of particle after the given interval of time.

➙ θ = ωt + 1/2 αt²

  • θ denotes angular displacement
  • ω denotes angular velocity
  • α denotes angular acceleration
  • t denotes time

By substituting the given values;

➙ θ = (20 × 10) + 1/2 (2 × 10²)

➙ θ = 200 + (400/2)

➙ θ = 200 + 200

➙ θ = 400 rad

We know that,

» 2π rad = 2 rev

∴ 400 rad = 400/2π = 200/π rev
