Initial velocity, u = 50 m/s
Acceleration, g = -10 m/s2
Now,
v = u + at
=> 0 = 50 – 10t
=> t = 5 s
This is the time taken to reach the highest point.
Using,
v2 = u + 2as
=> 0 = 502 – 2(10)h
=> h = 125 m
This is the maximum height attained.
