Solution:

Given,

v = 20 m/s

u = 10 m/s

s = 135 m

By using the formula of third equation of motion.

v^2 - u^2 = 2as

=> (20)^2 - (10)^2 = 2 × a × 135

=> 400 - 100 = 270 a

=> 300 = 270 a

=> a = 300/270

[ •°• a = 10/9 m/s^2 ]

Now, by using the formula of first equation of motion.

v = u + at

=> 20 = 10 + 10/9 t

=> 20 - 10 = 10/9 t

=> 10 = 10/9 t

=> 10 × 9 = 10 t

=> 90 = 10 t

=> t = 90/10

=> t = 9

[ •°• t = 9 s ]

Thus, the value of t is 9 seconds.
