Particles in water at 00C have more energy as compared to particles of ice at same temperature. Why?​

When ice melts to water, energy is absorbed to overcome the force of attraction between the ice particles.

Since the intermolecular force of attraction decreases, the kinetic energy of molecules in water is more than ice.
