there are 8 parts of speech in english.
1)noun

noun is a naming word
examples: geeta, seeta, book, school etc.
we have two main types of noun common noun and proper noun. common names like book school etc are common nouns and proper nouns have specific names like geeta seeta etc.
pronouns are used instead of noun. in a paragraph, if we keep on using proper noun repeatedly, it will not be good to read. So we use pronouns.
examples: he, she her.
geeta is a good girl.She is a good girl.
adjectives are used to describe a noun.
examples: clever, naughty,handsome etc
raj is a good boy.
verb is an action word. any action done by the noun can be called as a verb.
