let the no.of 500 .rs notes be x
let the no.of 100 .rs notes be 40-x
amount of 500 .rs notes =500x
amount of 100 .rs notes be = 100(40-x)=4000-100x
then,
500x+4000-100x=11200
400x+4000=11200
400x=11200-4000
400x=7200
x=7200/400
x=18
40-x=40-18=22
ratio=18:22=9:11
