Yes.

Parvati knew that She was Sati, in her previous birth.

Parvati and Sati are two different avatars of Shakthi.

Daksha did years of penance for Goddess Shakthi, and finally she pleased with Daksha gives Darshan to him, and asks him for his desired boon.

Daksha says “ Goddess Shakthi , I want you to be born as a daughter to me “, and goddess grants Daksha the boon.

Thus, Goddess Shakthi was born as Sati, to Prajapathi Daksha.

And after few years Daksha marries his daughter Sati to God Shiva.

Everything goes well upto one day , when few sages conduct a Yagna at Prayag, and all the celestial beings are invited, including Shiva and Sati.

Shiva and Sati sit in their designated places , in the Yagna premises.

After sometime Prajapathi Daksha enters the venue, and everyone present there get up and bow to Daksha , except Shiva !

Daksha gets furious over Shiva and treats this as an insult to him. Shiva explains to Daksha, that He has come to the yagna as one of the tridev and not as his Jamaata ( son in law ).

But , Daksha leaves the venue with arrogance.

Later, He decides to perform a Nireeshwar yagna ( in which except Shiva , everyone else is invited ).

When Sati comes to know of this , she says to Shiva “ Lord, my father out of ignorance is performing this Nireeshwar Yagna, it's neither good for us or for the entire world. So, we both will go and explain to my father , the consequences of such Yagna. I'm sure he would listen to his dearest daughter !”.

Shiva replies “ dear Sati, your father's ignorance has converted into arrogance and hatred , so, no one can change him.”

Sati , still attached with her father , pleads Shiva.

Shiva doesn't agree and at last Sati says “ Lord, if you don't want to come , it's your wish . But please , allow me to go , for my father's welfare.”.

Shiva , the mahakaal knows everything , but still agrees and sends Sati to Daksha abode.

Sati after reaching her father's abode, gets insulted, but she tries her level best to explain to her father and to all the people present in the yagna premises to stop the Yagna.

Daksha starts to abuse Shiva , and Sati not able to bear Shivninda ( insult to her husband Shiva ), Immolates herself.

Sati before immolating , says to Daksha ,” I feel insulted to be born to you , and I'm ending this life , and thus giving up the title of Dakshayini ( Daksha’s daughter). Atleast in my next birth , I want to be born to a father , who would respect my Husband and I should be proud to call him as my father.

“ My Shiva already warned me about the insult , I would face here , but I still attached with you, have come here and faced this humiliation. “

“ Without putting much effort , I got Shiva in this life, so I'm losing Shiva. Atleast In my next birth , I would do penance and realise my true Form of Shakthi and forever would win Shiva “.

And Sati Immolates herself.

In her next birth , Sati is born as Parvathi to Himavanth ( the mountain King)

After doing immense penance for many years and realising her Shakthi form, Parvati marries Shiva and wins Shiva forever !
