The amount praveen spends on tiles is Rs.45000

- The problem requires us to find out the surface area of the tank

- its a cube with each side 300cm long

- He wouldn't tile the bottom of the tank, so we need to find the surface area of this cube without the bottom

- surface area of the cube is given by A = 6 a^2

But here we are covering only 5 sides,

-so our formula is A = 5 a^2

This evaluates to 45 m^2

- If our tile is of size 20cm (0.2m) , its area is given by A_tile = 0.04 m^2

-No of tiles required to tile the tank, N = A / A_tile = 1125 tiles

- each tile costs Rs.40

-Therefore 1125 tiles costs, 1125*40 = Rs.45000
