Passage (2 & 3): The average age of a family of 6 members is 30 years. The age of the younges
member of the family is 10 years.
what was total age of the family just before the birth of youngest member ​

Answer:

Total age of 6 members = 22*6 = 132 years.

Total age of 5 members excluding youngest member = 132–7 = 125 years.

At the birth of youngest member, everyone's of the families age will be reduced by 7 years. So total age reduced = 5*7 = 35 years. Therefore theirs total age = 125–35 = 90 years.

Hence average of theirs age = 90 ÷ 5 = 18 years
