Passage:

in 1476, William Caxton introduced printing press in England. As a result books became cheaper and accessible. This
increased the levels of literacy in England. Also publishing books for masses developed into a very profitable enterprise and
made available texts written in English for the first time. This meant that the English could now read something written in their
language as opposed to Latin. The printing press contributed greatly to the standardization of English. The dialects of English
that were spoken in the areas where the printing houses were located were widely publish and as a result became the English
with spellings and grammar becoming fixed. As a result the first English dictionary was published in 1604.
