Hi your passing marks matters on school academic activities because there is no rule by CBSE to make marking practicals in school but some school does both things.They give theory paper and practicals in 11th class subjects that changes your total marks because a paper carries 100 marks total but if there is a practical then theory paper will be of 90 and practical paper will be of 10 marks then passing marks is 30.5 in theory and 3.5 in practical paper but in English theory paper is of 70 marks so passing marks is near about 23 and practical is of 30 marks so passing is 11.
