yes it helps in killing germs and bacteria and stop their growth .it was invented by luis pasture

Pasteurisation is the process of heating milk at a very high temperature and then suddenly cooling it down to a very low temperature. This kills the bacteria which can live in very high temperature and also kills bacteria which can live in very low temperature. So yes, pasteurisation kill the harmful microbes.
