GIVEN :-

  • There are total 35 sweets.
  • Pat got 2 times the number of sweets King got.
  • Roy got half the number of sweets King got.

TO FIND :-

  • Number of sweets each of them got.

SOLUTION :-

Let King got 'x' number of sweets.

According to question ,

  • Pat got 2 times the number of sweets King got.

Therefore , Pat got '2x' sweets.

  • Also , Roy got half the number of sweets King got.

Therefore , Roy got 'x/2' sweets.

Total number of sweets are 35.

→ 35 = x + 2x + (x/2)

→ 35 = 3x + (x/2)

→ 35 = (6x + x)/2

→ 70 = 7x

x = 10

Number of sweets with ,

  • King = x = 10
  • Pat = 2x = 2(10) = 20
  • Roy = x/2 = 10/2 = 5

Hence , King have 10 sweets , Pat hav 20 sweets and Roy have 5 sweets.

LETS CHECK!

Sum of these sweets should be 35 as total sweets are 35.

Sweets of [ King + Pat + Roy ] = 35

35 = 35 (verified)
