In physics, displacement and distance are used to show the length between 2 points.

Though, these 2 are not the similar thing.

While, displacement is the extent of the shortest path between 2 locations, on the other side, distance is the extent of the actual path between 2 locations.

So, the distance shows how much path is traveled by the object, during motion and the displacement gives us an design of how far the body is from its initial point and that as well in which direction.
