The air that we breathe in enters the nose ormouth, flows through the throat (pharynx) and voice box (larynx) and enters the windpipe (trachea). The trachea divides into two hollow tubes called bronchi.

In order for the lungs to expel air the diaphragm relaxes, which pushes up on thelungs. The air then flows through the tracheathen through the larynx and pharynx to the nasal cavity and oral cavity where it is expelled out of the body.Bronchioles: The tertiary bronchi branch into fine tubules called bronchioles, the last passageways for air.
