Mike and Paul can do the same work in 15 days.

To Find : The number of days taken by Mike to do the same piece of work is:

Solution:

 Paul can do a piece of work in 25 days.

=>  Paul can do  work in 1 day = 1/25

Mike can do a piece of work in  d days

=> Mike can do  work in 1 day = 1/d

Mike and Paul can do the same work in 15 days.

=> Mike and Paul can do  work in 1 day = 1/15

1/25  + 1/d  = 1/15

=> 1/d  = 1/15  - 1/25

=> 1/d  = ( 5 - 3) /75

=> 1/d  = 2/75

=> d = 75/2

Mike to do the same piece of work  in  75/2 = 37.5 Days
