Given : Paul has cut some paper squares measuring  2cm    * 2 cm . He wants to paste them onto a square board without the paper squares overlapping. The area of the board is 64 cm²

To find :  greatest number of paper squares that can be pasted on the board

Solution:

Paul has cut some paper squares measuring  2cm  * 2 cm

Hence area of paper Square = 2 * 2 = 4 cm²

greatest number of paper squares will be pasted if no space left on board

The area of the board is 64 cm²

=> greatest number of paper squares that can be pasted on the board  = board area / paper square area

=  64/4

= 16

16 number of Paper Square can be pasted
