Solution:

From the given, ratio of the efficiency of Paul and Lisa, P: L is 2:1

Total number of days in which both can complete the work is 30 days.

Here, the total efficiency is 2+1=3

\text { work done }=\text { efficiency } \times \text { time }

3 \times 30=90

So, the total work done is 90.

Work done by Paul in 30 days is

2 \times 30=60

Work done by Lisa in 30 days is

1 \times 30=30

If Paul alone does the work then,

90=2 \times \text { time taken }

Time taken by Paul alone to do the work is 45 days.

If Lisa alone does the work,

90=1 \times \text { time taken }

Time taken by Lisa alone to do the work is 90 days.
