Pavan wants to fit three rods together in the shape of a right angled triangle. The hypotenuse

is to be 2cm. longer than the base and 16cm. longer than the altitude. Find the length of each

x²+y²=(x+2)²        by pythogoras theorem

x²+y²=x²+4+4x

y²=4+4x

from(1)    x=14+y   ------(3)

sub (3)in (2)

y²=4(1+14-y)

y²=4+56-4y=60-4y

y²+4y=60

y=6

sub y=6 in (1)

x=20

the size of the rods are 20cm ,6cm,22cm
