Payal is 5 years older than Proma . If four more than four times Proma's age is three less than three times Payal's age , what are their ages?

Let Proma's age = x years

Payal's age = ( x + 5 ) years

Four times of Proma's age = 4x years

Three times of Payal's age = 3( x+ 5 )

= 3x + 15

According to the problem ,

If four more than four times of

Proma's age is three less than

threetimes of Payal's age.

4x + 4 = 3x + 15 - 3

4x - 3x = 15 -3 - 4

x = 15 - 7

x = 8

Therefore ,
Proma's age = x = 8 years

Payal's age = ( x + 5 ) years

= ( 8 + 5 ) years

= 13 years.
