PIMPRI CHINCHWAD: The civic body has proposed that water charges should be fixed for slum areas.
It has also sought a fixed time for water supply in the slum localities — two hours each in the morning and evening.
Citizens have complained to the standing committee members that water supply is irregular and inadequate.
Chairperson of PCMC standing committee Seema Savale said, “If there are two housing societies of 100-200 flats, the department supplies water on alternate days to these flats. The department must give equal amount of water to these flats. Tax-paying citizens not getting water is not acceptable,” Savale said.
The committee has also approved a proposal that all construction material used for roads, municipal buildings, bridges in PCMC area should be certified by the National Accredition Board for Testing and Collaboration Laboratories.
