peat is an important source of domestic fuel in several countries .how is 'peat' formed in nature ?

peat is formed from the fossil fuels and remains of animals which are buried in ground after long time

In marshy areas when a plant like mosses or sedges or few shrubs are completely decayed by anaerobic bacteria peat is formed.
Sphagnum, a moss provides peat which is long used as fuel
