Yes, the two girls were different from each other about understanding others feelings.Peggy was very kind to animals. If anyone would ever tease any animal like a little puppy, she could not tolerate it and would save the animal from being bullied. But she did not understand other humans feelings. She would ask Wanda about how many dresses she had and how may hats she had in her closet and bullied her. She didn't even felt sorry about bullying Wanda.
But Maddy was sensitive to human feelings. She did feel pity for Wanda. She wanted to ask Peggy to stop teasing Wanda. But she didn't have the courage to do so. She felt that this would disturb the friendship between her and Peggy and Peggy was her best friend.
