Breadth of rectangle ABCD =5 m

Area of rectangle ABCD =L×B

=50×5

=250 m

Breadth of rectangle EFGH =5 m

Area of rectangle EFGH =35×5

=175 m

Length of rectangle ILKL =5 m

Breadth of rectangle IJKL =5 m

Area of rectangle IJKL =35×5

=175 m

Now,

Area of shaded portion = (Area of ABCD + Area of EFGH) − Area of IJKL

=(250+175)−25

=425−25
