pen is always mightier than sword as pens can produce many poetry or stories which are  remembered generations after generations. we do not remember the wars that happened on 16th century but we remember Shakespeare 's dramas and sonnets written at 16th century .this is the power of pen.

The above lines appear in the 55th sonnet of Shakespeare's 'Not Marble Nor Gilded monuments'. Memories of his young friend have been immortalised by Shakespeare through his pen in the poem. The poet is of the opinion that the pen will outshine the princely gilded monuments built by rulers. The monuments will be destroyed over time but the lines penned by him will remain forever.
