The pen is mightier than the sword. We see this in the poem Not Marble Nor the Gilded Monuments, as while wasteful wars are able to destroy statues and monuments of those who wished to immortalise themselves, the works of art especially the memory of Shakespeare’s friend will remain forever, till the all-ending doom.
