A pendulum is a weight suspended from a pivot so that it can swing freely. When a pendulum is displaced sideways from its resting, equilibrium position, it is subject to a restoring force due to gravity that will accelerate it back toward the equilibrium position.

A pendulum basically is a load or mass that is suspended to a stringaucha that when the load is displaced at an amplitude from the Me a position or the equilibrium position I.ei x=0, then the pendulum acts under a restoring force which brings back it to the Mean position and then the this periodic motion contionous to be happen thus this motion is example of a oscillating peroidic motion......

Hope it helps u....
