Answer:

Density = 0.25 g/cm³

Explanation:

Firstly, the density of a body is the mass of that body divided by it volume. The density gives the idea of the relationship between the mass of a body and the space which it occupies(volume). How tightly packed the atoms that makes up the body, affects the density of every substance. If the substance has a large mass and the atoms are well arrange to fill all the spaces the density is expected to be high.

In the case of fire wood that has life initially, due to the sparsely packed nature of the cells the firewood is bound to have a low density because the mass are not occupying as much space as possible.

The mass of the firewood is already measured and known likewise the volume. Base on the formula for calculating density which is ;

Density = mass/volume

Density = 120/480

dividing through

Density = 1/4

converting the fraction to decimal

Density = 0.25 g/cm³

The density of the firewood is 0.25 gram per centimeter cube

Answer:

mass = 120 g

volume = 480 cm3

density = mass/ volume

           =120/480

            =0.25g/cm2
