Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

No of pens in a pack = 8

No of notepads in a pack = 12

Prime factor of 8 = 2×2×2=23

Prime factor of 12 = 2×2×3=22×3

LCM (8,12) = 23×3=24

Therefore, 24 is the least number of packets one must get

Answer:

No of pens in a pack = 8

No of notepads in a pack = 12

Prime factor of 8 = 2×2×2=232×2×2=23

Prime factor of 12 = 2×2×3=22×32×2×3=22×3

LCM (8,12) = 23×3=2423×3=24

Therefore, 24 is the least number of packets one must get

We must find out such type of word problems with LCM only.. There is no word problem in which they ask to find the value with HCF. Just remember if they ask a word problem basing on the chapter on HCF or LCM then in word problems only LCM is used.. If they ask to find the HCF, they ask the direct question to find the HCF of two numbers.

Hope you understand!☺

Have a nice day!❤
