There is a big list of things that India adopted from Western countries like
English language
Dress like suits, pants etc.
Boots
English calendar for official usage
Administrative services in the form of IAS, IRS , IFS etc
But the most important thing that India took from West according to me is the concept of Holiday.We cannot imagine our student or professional life without holidays. India did not have the concept of holiday historically. There were no special days dedicated to take rest or enjoy. Our way of life was to work everyday.
