people constructed lake,wells,stepwells etc. in olden days and today they are constructing dams?why?

because in olden days people did not know about dams and also they did not had the materials to construct dams
another reason is that the cities didn't needed electricity but now it is most important thing so there days dams are built

Bcoz it's make our work easier and faster. Electricity is produced using and in today's life most of things are based on electrical things. That's y they r constructing dam.
