Deforestation means cutting down the trees to a large extent be it forests, any barren land or trees we see on our way to school every day.

People cut down trees for lots of reasons. This is because people need to build stores, houses, and other buildings.

People also cut down trees to clear land for agricultural use. In some cases, trees are cut down for wood for fires to heat up their homes and cook food.

The loss of trees and other vegetation can cause climate change, desertification, soil erosion, fewer crops, flooding, increased greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, and a host of problems for indigenous people.
