People in their old age suffer from hearing loss. This happens as they grow old and their ears are exposed to the noise/sound which is either very loud, or if it lasts for a longer period of time. The sensory hair cells, when damaged, don't get back to normal ever again, causing partial or complete deafness.

To cure this, devices called hearing aids are used. The function of these aids is to make the sound around it louder, and help the user to hear it. They're worn either inside the ears or behind them.
