Answer:

Kalam’s father was a revered figure in the locality. Coming out of the mosque after prayer, Kalam would see people sitting outside – all of them waiting for his father. They would mostly come to meet his father in search of solution to their personal problems. They would seek respite for their sufferings  and relief to their pain and agony by coming  under the guidance of his father.

Many of the people waiting for his father would offer bowls of water to him and  his father would dip his fingertips in them and say a prayer. People carried this water home for invalids.

This was a daily event. This shows that Kalam’s father was a revered figure in the locality and people across religions had great faith on him. They regarded him as a true godman and as a saviour who could get them out of trouble when needed.
