People of village wants to construct a road nearest to a circular village Rampur. The road cannot pass through the village. But the people wants that road should be at the shortest distance from the center of the village (i) which road will be the nearest to the center of village? OA=25, OC=20

Solution- Radius makes 90 degree with tangent

Therefore, using Pythagoras theorem

OC square = OA square + Radius square

25sq. - 20sq. = Radius sq.

√625-400 = Radius

√125=Radius

Radius =15cm

The shortest distance of the road from centre of the village is 15cm.
