people Sprinkle water on open ground on a hot day . why?

so that it may cool down.Because when we sprinkle water then ground absorb it and make it cooler.

because if we put the water on the ground the ground becomes moist and evapoates and mixes with all the other gases in the air. because our surroundings become a little cooler.
