Per capita income for the development but it has some despite is it means that the per capita income help in to know the development of a country but it has some respect is this means that it does not show how many peoples got income it means that the gap between rich and poor is not shown by the per capita income.

For example :-

In a country ther are two group containing 50000 people in each group.

the income of the first group is 10 lakh and second group income is 12 lakh so there per capita income of the country is 22.

In other country they are also two group containing 50000 people in each group the income of the first country is 20 lakh and the income of the second group is only 2 lakh so there per capita income of the country also 22.

Now you understand how per capita income hide disparities.
