Past Perfect is used when an action is done in earlier past. That is, before the other action. Example - I had already studied before my dad said me to.
Present Perfect is used when an action is done at the time of speaking. That is, it is like a combination of present and past. Always use SIMPLE PAST for actions which have been done and are closed. Example to present perfect - I have done my homework. I have studied.
Simple Past - I studied yesterday.
You can ask if you have any doubts.
