Answer:
experiment
Explanation:
materials needed:a glass box ,plant,soil
procedure :store the plant in a glass box and keep it in light and water it regularly but close the box after some days the plant will die..
Given
Aim => To show that CO2 is necessary for photosynthesis
Now,
Apparatus => a green destarched plant, a wide mouthed bottle, vaseline, a split cork, caustic potash (KOH) solution and material for starch test.
Procedure => Insert one half of a leaf of the destarched plant into the bottle containing a little KOH solution. As shown in the diagram, the leaf should be kept half inside and half outside the bottle. Make air tight by applying vaseline. Place the apparatus in the sunlight for a few hours. Remove the leaf under study then test for the presence of starch in this experimental test.
Observations => The leaf can be divided into three parts.
(a) Inside the bottle
(b) In the split cork
(c) Outside the bottle
It will be seen that the part of leaf in split cork and inside the flask doesn't turn blue black while outer part of leaf shows positive starch test.
Precautions:
(1) Make the connections airtight.
(2) Leaf shouldn't touch KOH solution.
(3) Place the apparatus in sunlight for about 6 hours.
